چکیده

We study the tubular phase of self-avoiding anisotropic membranes. We discuss the renormalizability of the model Hamiltonian describing this phase and derive from a renor-malization group equation some general scaling relations for the exponents of the model. We show how particular choices of renormalization factors reproduce the Gaussian result, the Flory theory and the Gaussian Variational treatment of the problem. We then study the perturbative renormalization to one loop in the self-avoiding parameter using dimensional regularization and an ǫ-expansion about the upper critical dimension, and determine the critical exponents to first order in ǫ.

Tubular phase of self-avoiding anisotropic crystalline membranes.

We analyze the tubular phase of self-avoiding anisotropic crystalline membranes. A careful analysis using renormalization group arguments together with symmetry requirements motivates the simplest form of the large-distance free energy describing fluctuations of tubular configurations. The non-self-avoiding limit of the model is shown to be exactly solvable. For the full self-avoiding model we ...

Tubular MFI Zeolite Membranes Made by In-Situ Crystallization

Polycrystalline MFI zeolite membranes were prepared on α-alumina tubular support by hydrothermal treatments at 413 K. The synthesized zeolite membranes were characterized by XRD, SEM and single gas permeation. The influence of hydrothermal treatment steps and the calcination time on the zeolite layer formation were investigated. MFI zeolite membrane prepared by four subsequent hydrothermal ...

New Analytical Results on Anisotropic Membranes

We report on recent progress in understanding the tubular phase of self-avoiding anisotropic membranes. After an introduction to the problem, we sketch the renormalization group arguments and symmetry considerations that lead us to the most plausible fixed point structure of the model. We then employ an ε-expansion about the upper critical dimension to extrapolate to the physical interesting 3-...

CO2 Selective Carbon Tubular Membrane: The Effect of Stabilization Temperature on BTDA-TDI/MDI P84 co-polyimide

Membranes offer remarkable attributes such as possessing small equipment footprints, having high efficiency and are environmentally friendly, with carbon membranes progressively investigated for gas separation applications. In this study, carbon tubular membranes for CO2 separationare prepared via the dip-coating method with P84 co-polyimide as the carbon precursor. The prepared membranes were ...

Asymptotic Analysis of Binary Gas Mixture Separation by Nanometric Tubular Ceramic Membranes: Cocurrent and Countercurrent Flow Patterns

Analytical gas-permeation models for predicting the separation process across  membranes (exit compositions and area requirement) constitutes an important and necessary step in understanding the overall performance of  membrane modules. But, the exact (numerical) solution methods suffer from the complexity of the solution. Therefore, solutions of nonlinear ordinary differential equations th...
